A traditional British picnic, quite controversial because it seems to be inspired by the Mughlai cuisine, originally called Nargisi Kofta. Originally from the crown pearl - India, Piccalilli is a piece of the history of the empire, being a British interpretation of pickles (from Southeast Asia), a delicious flavor of vegetables and spices minced and intensely marinated in a mixture of lemon juice, palm sugar, mustard seeds and ginger.

The word "keep" comes from Romanian language and means "to keep". There are, however, other beliefs that this word would come from Oriental culture, that is, Old Persia, where it was called the "barrel". The pastrami recipe comes from the northern part of Romania, where the Jewish community once was a very strong one. This pastrami became famous when Jews who emigrated to America from northern Bucovina opened some deli shops. The most famous dish, Katz Keep from Katz Deli in New York, you can find it in our original recipe.

Originally this appetizer had the name of Welsh Rabbit even though no rabbit meat was ever in it. No explanation was found regarding the name of this dish. It is a very British appetizer that goes perfectly with a drink, specially a dark beer, also found in our menu.

The salad's creation (early 20th century) is generally attributed to restaurateur Caesar Cardini, an Italian immigrant who operated some restaurants on the west coast of the United States. We served it here in its American version with bacon chips.
